Amanda Warford
Amanda Warford joined Jacksonville.com in December 2007 as a multimedia producer and columnist. Her focus is on identifying and profiling groups in north Florida through multimedia content including video.
Amanda was born and raised in Kentucky where she briefly attended college before transferring to the University of North Florida. Following in her father’s footsteps, she couldn’t ignore the allure of the video production world and earned a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting after completing an internship at Jacksonville.com. Amanda freelanced locally before moving to Gainesville to continue her education at the University of Florida. This is only a conflict when the Wildcats play the Gators, at which time she simply wears the color blue and tries to ignore text messages from friends back home. In 2007, she completed her Master of Arts in Telecommunication, and in August 2008, Amanda received two bronze awards from the Florida Motion Picture and Television Association. These awards were in the categories of Best of Documentary and Documentary Editor for her thesis film “The People’s Governor: The Life of Gov. Warren E. Hearnes”.
Amanda moved to the beaches area in 1999 to be near her family and became active in the community early on. In her spare time she enjoys roaming the beach on her bike with friends, getting crafty, and attempting the near impossible feat of watching every Law and Order episode ever produced. Amanda has a Boston Terrier named Biggie.
