Janet Herrick CEO/President, Onsite Environmental Consulting
Janet says, “I am just as comfortable in snake boots as I am in high heels, and given my choice, outside is where I’d rather be. I grew up on a 200-acre farm in WV as one of 10 kids. ‘Woods-speak’ is my first language. Any day in the woods is a great day to me!”
As a community member, Janet is the Chamber of Commerce’s 2011 Small Business Leader of the Year. She has also been accepted into the 2012 Leadership Jacksonville class. In her free time, Janet teaches outdoor ethics workshops for Leave No Trace (LNT) Center for Outdoor Ethics based in Boulder, CO. In 2009, LNT recognized her as their Top State Advocate in the nation. She is active with Women Business Owners of North Florida and the North Florida Land Trust. Janet holds a Master’s Degree in English from UNF, is a freelance writer for Arbus Magazine, and has taught writing at Douglas Anderson and LaVilla Schools of the Arts.
She and husband/business partner, Adam Hoyles, are both outdoor enthusiasts. Janet has two sons, Logan Miller, who lives in Seoul, South Korea, and Ian Miller who is currently serving with the Marine Corps in Afghanistan. She is also proud to be “GiGi” (Glamour Grandma) to 18 month old grandson Gabriel.
