Marge Hutton

Chair of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce & Council Woman
of the Town of Orange Park

margeMarge Hutton was born in Brooklyn, NY. She married Navy Lt. and doctor, Pat Hutton, 36 years ago and went on a wonderful Navy adventure.  She happily says she has been in the South (Orange Park, that is) for longer than her time in the North!

Marge’s background has been in business and she has had many opportunities in several cities as they moved around. She received her business degree from Nova Southeastern University. Once they settled in Orange Park, her volunteer roots were established. Marge became involved in the Clay County and Florida Medical Association Alliances and eventually was State President, the first from Orange Park.

She has also been involved in political activities since the early 80’s starting as a voter registrar and then in different political campaigns, from County Sherriff,  County Commissioner, School Board, to Senate, House and Congressional seats. She has enjoyed the behind the scenes work in getting the best candidates elected. As of April 5th, she is discovering what it is like to be on the other side of the political fence as an elected official.  She was sworn in as Council Woman of the Town of Orange Park.

In addition, she has been involved in the Clay County Chamber of Commerce.  She has held several Committee Chairmanships and is currently the Chair of the Chamber of Commerce.  She enjoys using her networking skills to help connect the small business community in Clay County.  The over 750 members of the Chamber have wonderful opportunities to network and grow their businesses with the programs and skilled staff that are available to support and advocate on their behalf.

Marge and Pat have a daughter Eileen who is completing her PhD at Burren College of Art in County Clare, Ireland.  They love to travel, dance, snow ski and read.
