Mike McGovern

AVP Cost & Economic Analysis, CSX Transportation

 

MikeMike McGovern is the Assistant Vice President of Cost & Economic Analysis at CSX Transportation in downtown Jacksonville. Mike has worked with CSX in several Finance and Process Improvement related capacities included leading teams supporting the Engineering, Mechanical, Technology, and Transportation organizations. Mike also served as the Chief Financial Officer at The Greenbrier Hotel & Resort. Currently, his team supports CSX Transportation Operations with economic analysis of capital projects, major purchasing & internal logistics decisions, and cost structure questions.

Mike was born and grew up in central New Jersey where he was co-Valedictorian and earned 13 varsity letters at Colonia High School. Mike attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and an advanced degree in Transportation & Logistics. Following graduation, Mike joined CSX in Jacksonville, FL.

Mike has supported a number of programs and charities. While attending MIT, Mike served as an Assistant Scoutmaster and volunteered time at Boston's St. Francis Soup Kitchen. While in Jacksonville, Mike has provided financial support to United Way of NE Florida and participated many times in the annual MS 150 bicycling event.

Mike enjoys athletic competition. You may see him running or bicycling in just about any part of town, participating in a running race, or in a local sprint triathlon. Mike has completed 10 out of 10 marathons, including 5 in Boston and 2 in Jacksonville, all in under 3 hours.

Mike and Rosanne have been married more than 15 years and live in Jacksonville's Southside. Together, they enjoy bicycling on their tandem bike, events at the Cummer Museum, dancing, music, and making trips to see family in Frederick, MD and in North Jersey. They are both pleased by this opportunity to participate in this wonderful event and help raise money for a terrific charity.
